Barnard Castle

About this Division

Division Commissioner: Karen Thompson

Barnard Castle District Commissioner: Jennie Stafford

Units operate as follows:

  • 3 Rainbow Units (1 Middleton in Teesdale/2 in Barnard Castle)
  • 3 Brownie Units (1 Middleton in Teesdale/2 in Barnard Castle)
  • 1 Guide Unit in Barnard Castle

Raby District Commissioner: Nicola Walshaw

  • 2 Rainbow Units (1 Gainford/1 Staindrop)
  • 2 Brownie Units (1 Cockfield/1 Staindrop)
  • 1 Guide Unit

Barnard Castle may be small but we are definitely mighty! We have just 12 units, across 2 Districts, however guiding is as strong today as it always has been.

We have a huge guiding history in Teesdale and the surrounding villages. As a lot of the units are in rural locations, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows all provide a fantastic source of friendship, fun and laughter...for girls and Leaders alike!

We regularly meet for Division events, whether  across all the sections or just each section on their own, as this is the best way for the girls to gain a full guiding experience.

The Division has a great team of dedicated and enthusiastic  leaders, some more experienced, but always ready to welcome new leaders into the team.
