We have 4 Districts in our Divison they are Central Park, Birtley, Riverside and Market Central. We have 21 units in total; 5 Rainbows, 9 Brownies, 6 Guides and our Senior Section.

This year we have had two successful parent and daughter discos raising money to sustain our local Headquarters.

For the Big Brownie Birthday we celebrated by attending a huge sleepover at the Centre for Life in Newcastle. Girls from all units attended enjoying the museum and we ended the night with an indoor campfire before setting down for the night.

We had a visit from Look North’s Hannah Bayman where we were asked to choose March’s winning photograph for their Children in Needs calendar. We were then lucky enough to be on TV and met Pudsy.

In October we held a Guide Activity Day at Moor House where girls tried their hands at Archery, Vertical climb, team challenges, crate stacking, Zumba and hula hooping.

2nd Chester-le-Street Brownies

We are a large, friendly, active unit. We enjoy participating in lots of outings and holidays.

Here’s a few examples of the things we’ve been up to over the past few years:

2013

Netherurd Brownie Holiday: sixty eight girls and adults headed up to Scotland for five days for some this was their first time away from home. All the girls supported each other and had a brilliant time. The girls cooked their own 2 course meals, made their own bird house challenging themselves with a screwdriver and saw baby lambs being born. The girls also had a go at Archery and Challenged themselves on the zipwire over the lake.
