Florence and Eilidh from Birtley Rangers had a day with NSGSO (National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra) last weekend. They had applied for the 2020 intake which did not happen, so instead were offered a 1 day experience. There will be a concert of some kind soon.
“The NSGSO was a great experience where lots of musicians could come together to play in a big group and have a lot of fun. Usually, the NSGSO and NSGCB would have a week-long course in the summer, but this year there was a single-day course to make up for missing out on the last year. Despite the shortened course, it was still an enjoyable day of music-making and a brilliant event!” – Eilidh
The National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra (NSGSO) and the National Scout and Guide Concert Band (NSGCB) meet for a week each summer to rehearse and perform a concert.
They are open to members aged 12-25 that play an instrument at grade 4 or above.
