2019 has seen a change in style for our section activity days. We decided to use TCR the Hub at Barnard Castle to give the girls some adventures that they might never have had the chance to do before.
The Rainbows had their day in May and enjoyed the delights of High Ropes, Archery, Kite Making and Taekwondo! They had an absolute ball… so fearless and enthusiastic.
Rainbow, Emily (7) said ” I loved meeting the other Rainbows and couldn’t believe how high I climbed!”
A few weeks later it was the Brownies turn, the demand for the event was outstanding and a second Brownie date has been arranged! They took part in canoeing, high ropes, archery and in the words of the Brownies “the biggest bouncy castle -EVER!”
After the summer we held a Guide/Ranger/Young leader day – this time the girls had a go at BMX biking, high ropes, raft building and archery. The girls were outstanding and really pushed themselves on all the zones. The BMX biking was a particular challenge – as the girls found out – they couldn’t sit on the bikes and “speed is your friend!”
The girls from Langley Park said they’d loved “EVERYTHING”
With 400 girls attending these events this year , we couldn’t be prouder. #thisgirlcan
