Brownie Sisters Lend a Hand

Lizzie and Jenny are sisters and both Brownies in 3rd Spennymoor Brownies. Jenny grew her beautiful blonde hair for the sole intention to have it cut off so she could donate it to the Little Princess Trust which provides wigs to children after losing their hair, to cancer. The Princess Trust is an amazing organisation and entirely dependent on the selfless generosity of girls like Jenny.

Her older sister Lizzie also did her part by running 24 miles in 24 hours then totally smashed her target to go on to complete 26.58 miles in the 24 hours while Jenny rode her bike for support, additionally Lizzie also decided to donate her hair, both raising a grand total of £1250.

Also during lockdown they both contributed to a local community scheme by giving up a weekend working very hard to clean, prepare and convert an old red telephone kiosk into a library on Tudhoe Village green for residents to use.

These two girls are wonderful ambassadors for Girlguiding and we are very proud to have them. They are superstars.
